Matt has entered Great Smoky Mountain National Park today at Fontana Dam and is camping around Mollies Ridge shelter on the North Carolina/Tennessee border (2000.7 miles from Katahdin, 173.9 miles from Springer). Mollie's Ridge is right next to the Devil's Tater Patch, by the way.

The Great Smoky Mountains
Matt has entered Great Smoky Mountain National Park today at Fontana Dam and is camping around Mollies Ridge shelter on the North Carolina/Tennessee border (2000.7 miles from Katahdin, 173.9 miles from Springer). Mollie's Ridge is right next to the Devil's Tater Patch, by the way.

Don't forget to hitch a ride from Newfound Gap/Clingman's Dome up to Gatlinburg, so you can stop at the Happy Hiker and get your picture taken!

You can also get a pretty good dish in Gatlinburg - rainbow trout: fried, broiled, or baked - is an outstanding local dish!

Is the Devil's Tater Patch where Satan growns his Potatoes? If it is, I would avoid french fries in that area.
